I always miss a bit of my heartbeat whenever I saw Jaipur, the Pink City from my train window. So, I have planned a solo trip to this amazing city. In spite of being nicknamed as Pink City, it is not fully pink actually. All the buildings have a peach or orange color in them. Although there are lovely similarities among them.

Jaipur is the capital of Rajasthan and like all other capitals of the world it is very busy, active, open up to the new one always but it is different from other capitals by carrying the old vibes joyfully.

According to the cultural aspects, the previous ones are obviously awesome but providing this century comforts like malls, bars, clubs made Jaipur more interesting. Anyone can lose himself/herself in a maze as a first-timer, so here is a little bit help for first-timers in Jaipur.

One Start up Tip

The Rupee is most dominating here but it is always suggested that you should simply have small notes. Although the ATMs will provide you bigger notes, you have to make them small for moving, eating, or shopping purposes. Try to collect smaller notes as fast as possible from famous shops or restaurant because most of the local people can’t change the big notes.

Options for Staying the Night

There are several options for staying your nights in Jaipur. Most of them are budget-friendly. If you want to stay in an expensive luxurious one then go to the Rambagh Palace. I was cutting my budget low, so I have choose Umaid Bhawan in Jaipur for my night held.

Some Awesome Things to Try in Jaipur

Amer Fort

Amer Fort was the first thing in my bucket list. There are mainly two options to go there, either the taxi or get a Tuk-Tuk. This famous fort sits around fifteen kilometers away from the busy town of Jaipur. To avoid the crowd my suggestion is to start the day as soon as possible to beat the warmth and also the crowd. Amer Fort displays a few tremendous histories of previous Maharajas along with royal flats. Because of the high stand of the fort, I was able to enjoy the beautiful views of Jaipur and also the Nahargarh Fort.

Elephantastics

This one is a great sanctuary for elephants and my personal favorite. You have to communicate with the in-charge before going. Before traveling to Jaipur I have seen some travel guides were offering packages which include day long stay in the sanctuary, play with elephant, feed them sugar cane, and also can be invited to have a home-cooked meal in the in charge’s house. Whether there is the option of riding elephant rather than going to the Elephantastics; but I oppose riding on an elephant as I have seen the elephants have been treated cruelly by their owners which have given me goosebumps.

Jaipur City Palace

It is mainly the basic ones with mind-blowing architectures. The royal archway doors located in the center attracted me most.

A small tip for saving money, buying a tourist ticket for entrance into places like Jantar Mantar, Albert Francis Charles Augustus Emmanuel Hall repository, Nahargarh/Jaigarh fort, will definitely cut off your cost.

The Best Places to Dine in Jaipur

Personally I am a chocolate lover. So wherever I go, my first preference is chocolaty food. There are many reasonable restaurants in Jaipur where a tourist can have yummy chocolate muffins. Puppet shows took place for the entertainment of the visitors.

Chokhi Dhani

It is mainly a traveler cultural village which is found tacky by some tourists but this one is my personal favorite for dine-in. This place gives you an insightful glimpse into the ancient Rajasthani culture. There are many options for meal alternatives. I have selected traditional air-con thali as I thought of having the food in my own comfortable way. The thali is a traditional Indian platter with lots of small pots with delicious foods in it. I was also entertained by puppet shows, dancing, fortune-telling, etc which came with my ticket. There is also an option for applying henna and dressed in traditional Jaipuri dress for taking pictures. I enjoyed this part most.

Café Andrea Palladio

I have first found out the café on Instagram and was fully astonished after seeing this. I couldn’t believe my eyes that this place is in India. After I reached the place, it gave me a feeling of fairy tales. They have an international food menu also with my favorite baklava. They also served welcome drinks. Their menu was rich with recent salads and some other Italian dishes which contain authentic ingredients in them.

In my words, Rajasthan is a truly enjoyable place for celebrating festivals like Diwali or just for mind refreshment by going through ancient buildings. This Jaipur tour has given me the feeling of back in time. I will definitely go for another round of enjoyment in Jaipur in the near future. The special time I have spent there will be a lifetime memory for me. You can also plan a great tour here, trust me you won’t regret it.
